It perfectly combines the density of the fruit (plum, sour cherry, blackberry) with the botanicals of eucalyptus, laurel, and sage, all in a background of chocolate and cocoa. Meat casseroles like wild boar stew, pork with plums, and veal kebabs are a perfect pairing to a dry Mavrodaphne. More refined dishes like peppered filet, or pork tenderloin in sweet wine sauce (ideally, Mavrodaphne) will also satisfy your taste buds, over a dry Mavrodaphne.
