Description
Balvenie Caribbean Cask has been matured for 14 years in traditional oak barrels and then finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. To create an exquisite finish, Malt Master David Stewart filled American oak barrels with his own blend of selected West Indian rums. When he deemed that the casks were ready, he replaced the rum with the 14-year-old distillate and the wood was left to add the final touches. The result is an excellent single malt with the traditional soft and mellow character of The Balvenie, enriched by toffee notes and a hint of fruit, with a warm, prolonged aftertaste.
