Back in 1985, at a big gathering to bottle the winery’s first white wine, a friend at the table, in high spirits, kept teasingly asking Vangelis Hatzivaritis, “Vangeli! Are you paying attention to me?” To mark the winery’s 10th anniversary, this commemorative wine — made mainly from Sauvignon Blanc and Assyrtiko — blends progress with history. It shows aromas of lime, white-fleshed fruit, and small white flowers. Lightly structured on the palate, with good acidity and a long finish. Best enjoyed chilled alongside seafood, white meats, pasta, and salads.
